Governing Council...

The Lagos State Micro-Finance Institution (LASMI) is governed by a Board of Directors whose members are solely appointed by the Governor. The Board is responsible for administering the affairs of the Institution.


The Board consists of:

  • Executive Chairman;
  • Managing Director/Fund Manager;
  • Commissioner for Finance or his representative;
  • Commissioner for Women Affairs & Poverty Alleviation or his representative;
  • Two other members.

    Management Team:

    The Lagos State Micro-Finance Institution (LASMI) is managed on a daily basis by seasoned professionals. They are:


    Bashorun Sikiru
    Alabi-Macfoy

    Executive Chairman - LASMI

    Bashorun Sikiru Alabi-Macfoy was one of the pioneer students of Zumnatul Islaiyah Grammar School, Yaba, Lagos. He attended Lagos City Council School of Hygiene, now School of Health Technology. He also attended Polytechnic of North London, now University of North London, Polytechnic of Central London, now University of Central London and London School of Accountancy. He is a fellow of the following professional bodies: Association of Chartered Certified Accountants London (FCCA), Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators London (FCIS), Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA), Chartered Institute of Taxation Nigeria (FCTI) and Associate Member of Nigeria Institute of Stockbrokers Nigeria (ASC).
    He has worked in the banking, stock-broking and private industries holding various financial positions over a period of thirty-five years. He was executive chairman of Solihat Investment, Finance & Trust Co – a stock-broking advisory outfit, Principal partner of the Audit firm and Taxation consulting outfit – Alabi-Macfoy & Co (Chartered Accountants) and Alabi-Macfoy & Associates (Tax Consultants) until his present appointment as Executive Chairman of Lagos State Micro Finance Institution.


    Musiliu Gbolahan Bakare
    MD/Fund Manager - LASMI

    Musiliu Gbolahan Bakare obtained his first degree in Zoology from the University of Ibadan in 1978 and his Master of Business Administration degree with specialization in Financial Management in 1995. He holds an MSc degree in Finance from the University of Calabar (2000) and he is a member of Project Management Institute (USA).

     

    He started his career with Messrs Deloitte, Haskins and Sells as a trainee management consultant in 1980. He joined the then Bank of Credit & Commerce International as an officer and served in various capacities until 1988 when he left as a Senior Manager. He has worked with other various companies in senior management positions. He was the Managing Director/CEO of Brolbak International Ltd., a financial and management consulting firm, from 2003 until his current appointment Lagos State Micro Finance Institution (LASMI).

    He is 55 years old and married with three children.


    Mobolaji Rasaq Liasu
    Secretary - LASMI

    Mobolaji Rasaq Liasu is an Accountant by profession and a fellow of the prestigious Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA) and Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (FCTI). He is also an Associate Member of Nigerian Institute of Management (AMNIM).
    He has over fourteen (14) years of post qualification experience in Accountancy, Taxation and Management consultancy services haven worked in various establishments such as Segun Odufuwa & Co. (Chartered Accountants) as an Audit Staff and later as Audit Manager between 1988 and 1992. He was Head of Accounts & Admin. between 1992 and 1997 at New World Investments Limited which is an affiliate of New World Merchant Bank Limited.
    Until his recent appointment with the Lagos State Micro Finance Institution (LASMI), he was the Managing Partner at Rasaq Liasu & Co.; a firm of Chartered Accountants & Tax Practitioners rendering services in the area of Auditing and Investigation, General Accounting Services, Management Consultancy and Financial Advisory Services.
