The Lagos State Micro-Finance Institution (LASMI) was established by the Lagos State Government, under the governorship of His Excellency, Mr. Babatunde Fashola(SAN), in its continuing efforts to alleviate and ultimately eradicate poverty in the State.
The Institution was established with the primary objective of providing basic financial assistance to entrepreneurs in the rural and urban ares who may not normally be in a position to benefit from the services of the orthodox banking system due to their inability to provide collateral or security.
In order to effectively carry out this objective among others, the Lagos State Micro-Finance Institution (LASMI) has entered into agreement with selected Microfinance Banks (known as Agency Banks), licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria, to provide microfinance related services to micro scale clients within Lagos State.

Our Vision in accordance with our purpose of establishment is to alleviate poverty in Lagos State by empowering the active poor. |

Our Mission is to distribute the dividends of democracy to the people of Lagos State by providing basic financial assistance and other value added services for the growth of entrepreneurial activities through Micro-finance Banks. |
